Denise Marie Vasquez

Denise M. Vasquez, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, born in Manhattan, New York on December 26, 1972 (50), died Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Denise was a loving wife to John Savino, mother, daughter, and sister who brought joy to everyone around her. She will be missed dearly.

Denise received her Master’s in Psychology and was a Tenacious advocate in her community and for others in need. She selflessly put in long days and hours to help those in her care. She loved the outdoors and would frequently go camping and canoeing with her husband, John. They had planned to purchase an RV, to travel the country along with their precious cats. Denise enjoyed antiquing to get her treasured nick-nacks and tending to her plants. She genuinely loved living in Pennsylvania and often commented on how that was the best decision she had made. She delighted in Christmas and appreciated Halloween even more. Denise strived to win the award for the best decorated house in her community.

Denise is survived by her husband John Savino, along with her parents Ariel and Maria (Rolon) Vasquez, her son Michael A. Cortez III, her sister Annette Blanco, her niece AnnaBella J. Blanco, her nephew Anthony R. Bennett Jr. and other siblings, nieces, and nephews.

There will be a funeral service on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 12:00 pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 North 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to the time of service.
