Cristobal M. Arroyo, 91, of Effort, Pennsylvania died Monday, December 23, 2024, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was the widower of the late Isabel Arroyo with whom he shared 62 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2022. Born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Teodoro and Petra Arroyo.
Cristobal was employed as a general laborer for the Jersey City Incinerator Authority for many years. He was a hard worker throughout his lifetime. He loved to volunteer for the food pantry and help others in need. Cristobal was a minister to the people, who would preach the word of God. He enjoyed entertaining and was at his happiest when he had a home full of people especially his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Ivelisse Brown and her husband, Harold; Nilda Arroyo, all of Effort, PA; Damaris Arroyo of Melbourne, FL; Jose Arroyo and his wife, Jinny of Jersey City, NJ; grandchildren: Joey, Cris, Radames, Veronica Alex, Eric, and Mark; great grandchildren: Jayla, Evan, Alden, Jazzlyn, Noah, Ethan, Kyla, Avery, Elliana, Kamila, Mathias, Bria; and his sister Benita Arroyo.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Mission of Love and Hope Christian Church, 5224 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302. Burial will follow at Sandhill Cemetery, Bushkill, PA.
