Chafika "Georgette" Hayek

Georgette Hayek, 83, of Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania and formerly of Brooklyn, New York died Sunday, June 22, 2025, at her home with her family by her side.  Born in Beirut, Lebanon, she was a daughter to the late Louis and Jamila (Atik) Hobeika.

Georgette worked as a seamstress in New York City prior to retiring. She moved to the Mount Bethel area a few years ago. There she enjoyed listening to and singing along with her favorite music. She was a woman of many talents including painting, and she taught her son to paint during his childhood.  Georgette was an amazing cook, she loved to serve meals to her family and loved ones and one meal was better than the last.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Fadi Hayek and his wife, Elaine; Walid Hayek and his wife, Lisett; grandchildren: Jacob, Christopher, and Alexandria Hayek; siblings: George Hobieka and Leila Habre.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday June 24, 2025, at 6:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00pm on Tuesday June 24, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow on Wednesday June 25, 2025, at 11:00am at Stroudsburg Cemetery.
