Carl V. Hagerty

Carl V. Hagerty 87 of Stroudsburg, Pa. passed away on Tuesday May 25, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Georgann (Nevil) Hagerty with whom he would have celebrated 46 years of marriage.

 Born in Stroudsburg, Carl was a lifelong resident of the area where was a 1954 graduate of the Stroudsburg High School. He worked as an engineer owning and operating Hagerty’s service center in the Stroudsburg area for many years. Carl was a member of the Stroudsburg football squad.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Stroudsburg and the F.O. of Eagles Stroudsburg, Pa. Carl along with his wife Georgann traveled throughout the United States seeing family and friends in every state of the union. Carl was also an avid bowler through his life time and was an army veteran serving during the Korean War.

In addition to his wife Georgann he is survived by 2 sons: Carl Hagerty and his wife Ann of Croydon, Pa., Patrick Hagerty of Stroudsburg, Pa., 4 daughters: Annette Martin and husband Jay of Mt. Pocono, Pa., Gayle Hagerty of San Francisco, Ca. Carol Hagerty of Levittown, Pa. and Sharon Hagerty of Seattle, Washington, step-daughter Robin Fleming and husband Ronald of Henryville, Pa., 3 step-sons: Craig Gearhart and wife Judy of Bartonsville, Pa., James Gearhart of Stroudsburg, Pa. and Todd Gearhart and wife Jill of Cresco, Pa., 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

 Carl was preceded in death by a daughter Donna Smith and siblings: Clara Hursh, Elwood Hagerty, Olen Hagerty and Ottmar Hagerty.

Private cremation services were provided by the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th St. Stroudsburg, Pa. 18360. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
