Blanche Ruth Erickson

Blanche Ruth Erickson, 80, of Bath, Pennsylvania, died Friday, July 21, 2023, at her home with her family by her side.  She was the loving wife of Harold Erickson with whom she shared over 63 years of marriage.  Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Garrabrandt) Jodrey.

Blanche met the love of her life when they were just 12 years old.  She and Harold were inseparable, and she devoted her life to taking care of him as well as her family.  She worked selling eyeglasses at an optical store earlier in life.  However, Blanche’s passion was taking care of and spending time with her family.  She enjoyed dining out as she felt she had met her quota of cooking meals in her lifetime.  Anyone who met Blanche couldn’t help but love her.  She was kind, generous, loving with a beautiful heart.  While she was small in stature, she was large in presence and left a positive impression on everyone around her.  She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Along with her husband, Blanche is survived by her sons: Scott Erickson and his wife, Jennifer; Leonard Erickson; grandchildren: Kirsten, Kyle, Jessica; and two great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Blanche on Saturday, July 29th at 11am at Cross Road Baptist Church 201 South 2nd Street Bangor, PA 18013.

Private cremation was entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 North 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice in Blanche’s memory.
