Barry DeLuca Obituary

Barry Deluca, 78, formerly of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on January 22, 2024, after many years of recurring health problems.

He was born in the Bronx, New York, on July 1,1945 to the late Freda and James DeLuca. The family moved to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania where Barry graduated from East Stroudsburg High School in 1963.

After high school, Barry served in the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1967.

He was widowed by his second wife Ellen (Peltz) DeLuca after fourteen blissful years together. Barry worked as a field supervisor, job estimator, and electrical technician and was a member of NYC Local 3 IBEW for fifty years. He was also co-owner of two businesses, TruVision and Avcom Communications.

At retirement, Barry, an avid golfer, moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with friends, taking care of his dog, and watching the latest television series-especially mysteries and dramas. Barry always welcomed members of his family to visit him at his new home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Barry was devoted to his dog, Tyler and was generous to charity organizations including ASPCA, PETA, Paralyzed Veterans, and Wounded Warriors to name a few.

Barry is survived by his son Christopher DeLuca and wife Mindy, grandchildren Gianna and Quincey all of West Pittston, PA.; brother Bryan DeLuca and wife Cathy of Stroudsburg, PA.; sister Joan Putrino of Westwood, NJ; step-son Jonathan Peltz and wife Avrielle, grandchildren Derek, Jordan, Paige, and Brooke (his namesake), all of New City, NY; step-son Adam Peltz of Suffern, NY and granddaughter Amanda Allen of Mohegan Lake, NY; and his former wife (mother of his son Christopher) Carolyn (Keesler) Hughes of Hanover Township, PA; He is also survived by and lovingly remembered by his cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of Barry’s life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. 9th St. Stroudsburg, PA. Friends and family may gather there at 11 AM with the
memorial service following at noon. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations in memory of Barry may be made to a charity of your choice.
