Andrew E. McLean, 94, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania died Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Getz Personal Care Home in Kunkletown, one day short of his 95th birthday. He was the widower of the late Margaret McLean with whom he shared over 68 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2024. Born in Passaic, New Jersey, he was a son of the late William and Marion McLean.
Andrew proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Corregidor during the Korean War. He was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Tannersville where he helped wherever needed. He acted as Santa’s helper during Christmas, dressing up as the jolly elf and bringing smiles to the faces of children and many adults too. Andrew worked as a lineman at PSE&G until his retirement at the age of 57. He loved being outdoors; whether he was playing golf or playing softball in his younger days to bowling and bird watching or woodworking. He took many camping trips with his wife and daughters, travelling across the country. Andrew had a genuine presence and was loved by all who knew him. He adored and missed his wife deeply and is now reunited with her in God’s Kingdom.
Andrew is survived by his daughters: Nancy Wenzel and her husband, Ben; Linda Garofano and her husband, Guy; Patti Parker and her husband, Ty; grandchildren: Chris Wenzel and his wife, Jenna; Ricky Wenzel; Ashley Marquez and her husband, Alex; Dan Garofano and his wife, Lauren; Beau Parker; Teddy Parker; granddaughter-in-law Samantha Garofano; great-grandchildren: Remy, Silas, Elizabeth, Abigail, Andrea; many nieces and nephews, and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew Garofano.
Fr. Richard Czachor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, 327 Cherry Lane Road, Tannersville, PA 18372. Family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg with military honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N. 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
Andrew’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff and residents of Getz Personal Care Home for the amazing love and care they extended to him throughout the time he resided there.
