Alan Zimmer Obituary

Alan Joel Zimmer, 88, of Stroudsburg passed away Friday, August 20, 2021 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono. He was the widower of Marlane Zimmer who passed away in 2009. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Alan was the son of the late Joseph John and Anna Petrina (Burkee) Zimmer.

Alan was an US Army veteran, having served stateside during the Korean War. He was employed in the Inventory Control department for Wagner Electric in Livingston, NJ for about 30 years. Alan has resided in the Stroudsburg area for about 26 years, and prior to that in Flanders, NJ.

Alan is survived by his children; Greta L. Zimmer of Stroudsburg, Bruce A. Zimmer of Unadilla, NY, Elise A. Cunningham of Stroudsburg, Heidi J. Hummer of Syracuse, NY, and Ingrid M. Zimmer of Port Murray, NJ. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Marlane, Alan is preceded in death by his siblings; Virginia J. Berzenskis, Robert N. Zimmer, and Maulsby Zimmer.

Cremation will be private. The Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc. 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 is assisting the family with arrangements.
